About the Course

Guided by Liisa Thomas, a law firm partner and Northwestern Law School adjunct professor, this program draws on research about calling and career satisfaction to address a key gap in business development programs. If you answer yes to any of these, this course is for you: -- You have been bombarded with expectations to create a business development plan, but not been given the tools to put it together. -- You have attended countless numbers of business development programs, and are frustrated and overwhelmed by the volume of tasks you are expected to complete, and struggle to see how you can fit that into your daily routine. -- You have written more blogs and articles you can count, and have yet to get a single client as a result. Rather than handing you another program with a list of business development tactics and checklists, this course is different. Participants will identify their purpose and create a long-term vision for their futures. 

About the Instructor

This program was developed by Liisa Thomas, a law firm partner and adjunct professor at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, who has spent her career helping lawyers and legal professionals build careers they love. As both a practicing partner and educator, Liisa has mentored hundreds of lawyers and law students, guiding them through the often‑unclear process of translating daily legal work into long‑term careers they love. Combining real‑world experience with research on motivation, she has distilled what truly drives career satisfaction and business development into a concise, self‑paced curriculum.
